Mini Bristol Guide

Last weekend we had this crazy idea of waking up at 3am to get to Bristol before 6am to watch the sunrise. I’ve never been to Bristol before so was kind of excited but here’s a little spoiler before you get to the end of this post: I didn’t like it. It was good to visit and get to know this city a little bit more but we certainly won’t be back anytime soon.

Driving around the city was such a nightmare due to lack of road signs/markings. It’s a small city, comparable to Bath, but there’s definitely less to do/see than in Bath so we literally spent a couple of hours strolling around the city and decided to take the 40 mins journey to Bath instead.

I found however a few places worth a visit in Bristol:

Clifton Suspension Bridge

Clifton Bridge was the main reason we went to Bristol, and yes of course it’s something worth seeing especially during sunrise/sunset. It was truly magical!

For the most spectacular views head to Clifton Observatory, you don’t need to get inside, there’s a little park outside where you’ll get the best views.

Clifton & Clifton Village

Known for its quirky streets, shops and cosy cafes, lovely place for a little walk.

Royal York Cres

I really wanted to stop for a coffee and breakfast in Bristol as I found a few beautiful cafes but they were all closed till 10am so we decided to head to Bath instead. (If you haven’t seen my Bath guide, click here)
